Vysala's Cooking Guide

Skill 68-80
The following cooking recipes will raise your crafting skill from level sixty-eight to level eighty (68.0 - 80.0). Be sure to take your test between level seventy-eight and level eighty. If you do not take your test, you will not be able to get past level eighty. The synthesis test item for level eighty is Whitefish Stew.

Item Detail Item Guide

Skilling Levels: 68-70
Item Name: San d'Orian Tea
Item Level Cap: 70
Recipe: Fire Crystal, Windurstian Tea Leaves, Sage, Selbina Milk, Maple Sugar, Distilled Water

Sub Craft: None
Key Item: None
NQ Yield: San d'Orian Tea x1
HQ1 Yield: Royal Tea x1
HQ2 Yield: Royal Tea x1
HQ3 Yield: Royal Tea x1

I chose this recipe because all of the ingredients were buyable from NPCs (except crystals of course), making it fast and easy to make as needed. I tried selling these at the AH with no success, so I sold them all to the vender for a loss. While you could skip this recipe and move onto the next, I found that it was good to close the gap between recipes.

Item Detail Item Guide

Skilling Levels: 70-72
Item Name: Pear Au Lait
Item Level Cap: 72
Recipe: Water Crystal, Derfland Pear x2, Honey, Selbina Milk

Sub Craft: None
Key Item: None
NQ Yield: Pear au Lait x1
HQ1 Yield: Pear au Lait x1
HQ2 Yield: Pear au Lait x1
HQ3 Yield: Pear au Lait x1

I tried Eyeball Soup and Turtle Soup for a while and quickly moved onto this recipe. The Honey can be expensive - if you can farm it or find it cheap at the AH it will make these levels more bearable. Like most Au Laits, you will find these sell pretty good at the Auction House and from a mule. This recipe is likely to be a gil sink with the Honey unless you farm it.

Item Detail Item Guide

Skilling Levels: 72-74
Item Name: Rarab Meatball
Item Level Cap: 76
Recipe: Fire Crystal, San d'Orian Flour, Stone Cheese, Black Pepper, Rock Salt, Distilled Water, Bird Egg, Hare Meat, Mhaura Garlic

Sub Craft: None
Key Item: None
NQ Yield: Rarab Meatball x1
HQ1 Yield: Bunny Ball x1
HQ2 Yield: Bunny Ball x1
HQ3 Yield: Bunny Ball x1

If you saved any Stone Cheese, now is the time to get them out for use, if not you will want to make it yourself as there is not likely to be any at the AH and if there is it will not be cost effective to purchase it verses making it.

I found this recipe to be particularly painful and while it caps at 76 I found myself tired of it at 74. The advantage is many of the ingredients can be bought from venders and the remaining should be readily available at the AH. I found the skill ups in the 70's to be very slow. You will make these far faster then you can sell them, however they do have a slow turnover rate at the AH as they are used for fishing. If you cannot use them, give them to fishing friends, AH some and NPC the rest as you will have tons in just those two levels.

Item Detail Item Guide

Skilling Levels: 74-77
Item Name: Chocomilk
Item Level Cap: 79
Recipe: Fire Crystal, Kukuru Bean x4, Selbina Milk, Maple Sugar, Distilled Water, Honey

Sub Craft: None
Key Item: None
NQ Yield: Chocomilk x1
HQ1 Yield: Choco-delight x1
HQ2 Yield: Choco-delight x1
HQ3 Yield: Choco-delight x1

Skilling Level Alternative Below

This recipe caps at 79 but I could only withstand it until 77. There are several recipes in this stretch but most are very expensive and have virtually no AH market. Chocomilk has an extremely slow turnover rate at the AH if you are lucky. The Honey will set you back some if you do not farm it yourself. You will find yourself making these in Kazham for the Kukuru Beans if the Elshimo Lowlands region is not controlled. These are a complete loss of gil and you will find them best sold to the NPC. While this item is a complete loss, you will find unless you are a avid fisher that all of the other recipes at this level are a much bigger loss.

Alternative Skilling Recipe

Skilling Levels: 74-77
Item Name: Navarin
Item Level Cap: 77
Recipe: Fire Crystal, Olive Oil, Black Pepper, Popoto, Mithran Tomato, Wild Onion, Rock Salt, Distilled Water, Giant Sheep Meat

Sub Craft: None
Key Item: None
NQ Yield: Navarin x1
HQ1 Yield: Tender Navarin x1
HQ2 Yield: Tender Navarin x1
HQ3 Yield: Tender Navarin x1

These will sell at the AH for okay profit, however they do not sell all that fast. They will sell off a mule very slowly, but they will all eventually sell with patience. They are a nice break from the Chocomilk here and there if you want to alternate recipes.

Item Detail Item Guide

Skilling Levels: 77-80
Item Name: Pamama au Lait
Item Level Cap: 81
Recipe: Water Crystal, Pamamas x2, Honey, Selbina Milk

Sub Craft: None
Key Item: None
NQ Yield: Pamama au Lait x1
HQ1 Yield: Pamama au Lait x1
HQ2 Yield: Pamama au Lait x1
HQ3 Yield: Pamama au Lait x1

If you are in Kazham from the Chocomilk you might as well stay there for this recipe too, as you can buy the Pamamas there from an NPC. I found that these levels went by fast and that these sold at the AH very well and pretty fast. They are a great item and it is worth trying to get all of your sales at the AH for this one (or on your mule). Again the honey will set you back unless you farm it. While your breaks might make this recipe sell for some loss, I found them to be a relief from the Chocomilk levels.
